Pend Oreille Players Association (POPA) based in Newport, WA was established in 1997 as a loosely formed group of actors performing plays and workshops under the auspices of CREATE, a community arts organization. In 2004, POPA spun off from CREATE and established itself as a non-profit community theater organization.

POPA's purpose is to provide an opportunity for the community to participate in all aspects of the teaching and production of the theatrical arts as audience, performers and/or supporters.

POPA MISSION STATEMENT

To provide a community-based musical and dramatic performing arts organization for the purpose of:

• Presenting quality family enterainment.
• Creating educational opportunities for children and adults to develop talents ina ll aspects of the theatre arts.
• Joining with other community theatres for mutual assistance and enrichment.
