One Act Play Festival 2020  

POPA will be accepting One Act Play submissions for the July, 2020 festival.


Pend Oreille Players Association, a non-profit community theatre organization, is seeking original one-act plays to be produced at the Pend Oreille Playhouse Community Theatre in Newport, WA.

Up to six plays will be selected for presentation on July 23 & 24, 2020.

  1. Plays must be no more than 20 minutes in length.
  2. Plays must be the original work of the author, and must not have been previously produced or published  
  3. Plays must be family friendly, no strong language please.
  4. Plays must have small casts (1-6), and simple sets
  5. Submission deadline: March 15, 2020.
  6. Submissions may be paper or electronic.
    1. Paper submissions:
      1. Submit three (3) copies of the manuscript with NO author identification.
      2. Submit one cover page with complete author identification and bio: Name, address with zip or postal code; phone number with area code; email, and title of the play.
      3. Enclose a check for $8.00 entry fee for each play submitted, made payable to POPA.

We will be accepting submissions for our New Play Workshop until November 30, 2019. Submission should be full length, original unpublished works.

The selected script will be produced as readers' theatre in April 2020, worshopped with the playwright, then fully staged in April 2021.
